Privacy Policy

Overview

PixelRates is a price-comparison site. We independently source seller prices, add up the real all-in cost, and link you out to the seller you choose. We are not a shop: we do not sell gold, we do not process your payments, and we do not need to know who you are for the site to work. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data we collect while you browse, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.

The short version: we collect the minimum needed to keep the site fast, accurate, and honestly ranked. We do not sell your personal data, and you can use the entire site without creating an account.

Who operates PixelRates

PixelRates is operated by Magcore Technologies Inc., a company incorporated in the Province of Ontario, Canada. Magcore Technologies Inc. is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about any privacy matter through our contact page.

What we collect

When you visit PixelRates, our systems record a small amount of technical and usage data. This is standard for almost any website and is used for measurement and improvement, not for building a profile of you.

• Basic analytics. Which pages you view, how you arrived (for example a search engine or a direct link), and rough interaction data such as time on page. This tells us which comparisons people actually use so we can improve them.
• Device and browser information. Your browser type and version, operating system, screen size, and approximate region inferred from your IP address. We use this to render the price tables correctly and to catch bugs on specific devices.
• Anonymised, aggregated usage. Traffic and behaviour data combined across many visitors so that no single person is identifiable. This is what we look at day to day.
• Cookies and similar storage. Small files or browser-storage entries that remember preferences (such as your selected payment method for the all-in price) and support measurement. See Cookies and analytics below.
• Click tracking. When you click through to a seller, we log that a click happened so we can measure which listings are useful and detect broken outbound links, along with your IP address and browser user-agent for de-duplication and abuse prevention. We do not build a personal browsing profile from this.
• Fraud-prevention data on submissions. When you submit a review or a ban report, we record your IP address and browser user-agent alongside the submission. Fake reviews are the main way sellers try to game a comparison site, and this data is what lets us detect coordinated manipulation (for example, many "different" reviewers on one connection). We also compute a device fingerprint, a one-way hash of technical characteristics your browser exposes (such as screen and rendering details), used solely to detect one device posing as many reviewers. We store only the hash, never a picture of your device, and never use it for advertising. It is used for integrity and abuse prevention only, and is retained just as long as the submission itself matters.

Accounts and reviews

Browsing never requires an account. Writing a review or reporting a ban does. Every published review on PixelRates stands behind a verified identity, which is a core part of why our reviews can be trusted.

• Sign-in is via Google. When you sign in we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We store these privately to validate that you are a real person, to contact you about your submissions if needed, and to prevent duplicate or fraudulent accounts. We never post using your Google identity.
• Only your display name is public. You choose a display name at first sign-in; that pseudonym is the only identity shown with your reviews and on your public reviewer profile. Your real name and email are never displayed.
• Order references you optionally attach to a review are not shown publicly. They exist so we can verify the purchase.
• Proof screenshots you upload (optional on reviews, required on ban reports: order confirmations, purchase chats, ban notices) are kept private and are viewed only by our verification team, never by other visitors or by sellers. Any hidden data embedded in the image, such as camera or location details, is removed automatically. An accepted proof earns your review a "Verified buyer" badge; the screenshot itself stays private.
• You stay in control. You can update or delete your reviews from your account page at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account entirely via the contact page.

What we do NOT do

Our business is honest price comparison, and that only works if buyers trust us. So there are hard lines we do not cross.

• We do not sell your personal data. Not to sellers, not to data brokers, not to advertisers.
• We do not require an account to browse. You can read every price, guide, and methodology page without signing up or handing over an email address. An account is only needed to write a review or report a ban. See Accounts and reviews.
• We do not let sellers buy their way into the objective ranking. Sponsored listings are pinned separately above the list and always labelled; the objective all-in ranking beneath them is never affected by payment.
• We do not ask for and never want your game account password. No part of PixelRates will ever request it, and neither should any legitimate seller.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and equivalent browser storage for two purposes: measurement (understanding how the site is used so we can make it better) and improving rankings (learning which comparisons and payment-method filters people rely on, in aggregate, so the all-in price stays useful). Some cookies are strictly functional, such as remembering the payment method you picked so the prices you see already reflect crypto, PayPal, or card fees.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not lock you out of the site, though a few conveniences (like a remembered payment method) may reset between visits.

Third parties

A few outside services touch data as you use PixelRates:

• Analytics providers. We use Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to process the usage data described above. Google acts as our data processor for this and handles it under Google's Privacy Policy; Google Analytics 4 does not store your full IP address. Where the tooling allows, we enable data-minimisation settings.
• Sellers you click through to. The moment you leave PixelRates for a seller's storefront, you are on their website under their privacy policy and terms, not ours. We have no control over what they collect once you arrive, so review their policies before you buy.

Data retention

We keep analytics and click data only as long as it is useful for the purposes above. Aggregated and anonymised statistics may be retained indefinitely because they no longer identify anyone. Fraud-prevention data attached to a review or report is kept for as long as that submission is live (plus a reasonable audit window), because its whole purpose is defending the integrity of what is published. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Other technical logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. We do not maintain long-lived personal profiles beyond what you can see on your own account page.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we deliberately collect so little and do not require accounts, in most cases there is no personal profile to retrieve. If you would like to make a request, reach us through our contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your request to protect against fraudulent access.

Children

PixelRates is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age required by their local law to consent to online services. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors

PixelRates is available worldwide, and the data described here may be processed on servers located in countries other than your own. Data-protection laws differ between jurisdictions. By using the site you understand that your information may be handled in a country whose rules differ from those where you live. We apply the practices in this policy regardless of where processing takes place.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves or as the law changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be highlighted on the site. Continuing to use PixelRates after an update means you accept the revised policy.
