Disclaimer & advertising disclosure

How PixelRates makes money, why that never moves the ranking, and the risks you accept when buying in-game currency.

Advertising & affiliate disclosure

PixelRates is a free service, and we are upfront about how it stays free. We earn money in two ways: referral (affiliate) fees that some sellers pay us when a buyer reaches their storefront through one of our outbound links, and clearly labelled sponsored placements (not offered today, but part of the model as the site grows). Not every seller we list has such an arrangement, and the size of a fee varies from one seller to the next.

Here is the part that matters: none of this changes where a seller sits in the ranking. The order you see is driven entirely by the objective all-in price and the seller's PixelScore, computed the same way for every seller whether or not they pay us a cent. A seller cannot buy a higher position in the objective ranking, and paying us more does not push a rival down that list. Where a seller has purchased a sponsored placement, that listing is pinned above the ranking, always clearly labelled, and visually distinct; the objective ranking beneath it is never affected by payment. If it is not labelled "Sponsored," it is not sponsored. For the full mechanics of how the ranking is built, see our methodology.

Independence

Every price on PixelRates is one we collected ourselves by reading each seller's live, public storefront, the same page any customer would see. Sellers cannot submit, upload, edit, or influence the prices we publish. This is deliberate. The moment a marketplace lets sellers feed it their own "best price," those numbers stop being trustworthy, because the incentive is to look cheap on the listing and recover the difference at checkout. By sourcing independently, we remove that lever entirely. It is also why we are comfortable ranking a seller below a rival even when that seller pays us: our data does not come from them.

Price accuracy

Prices, fees, coupons, and PixelScores are gathered from publicly available storefronts and third-party review sources, and they can change at any moment without notice. Sellers adjust pricing, run flash promotions, alter payment-method surcharges, and expire coupon codes on their own schedule. Currency-exchange (FX) rates move continuously. Despite our checks, the data we show may occasionally be out of date, incomplete, or simply wrong.

Treat every figure on PixelRates as a strong starting point, not a guarantee. Always confirm the final all-in total on the seller's own checkout page before you pay. If a number here does not match what the seller charges, the seller's checkout is the authority. Please tell us so we can correct it.

Not affiliated with any game publisher

PixelRates is an independent, third-party price-comparison service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way associated with Jagex, Blizzard Entertainment, Square Enix, Valve, or any other game publisher or developer. Game names and currency names, including RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and RS3, are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners, used here only for identification and descriptive purposes. Our team has worked in the RuneScape gold-pricing space since 2017, but that experience is our own; it implies no relationship with any publisher.

Terms-of-service risk

Buying, selling, or trading in-game currency for real money may violate the terms of service or end-user licence agreement of the game you play. Publishers can and do take action against accounts involved in real-money trading, which may include suspensions, permanent bans, and the removal of purchased items or currency. PixelRates does not sell gold, does not process payments, and cannot promise that any purchase is safe or that your account will not be actioned. If you choose to buy, you do so entirely at your own risk and assume responsibility for the consequences. Our seller pages and ban-risk reporting exist to help you weigh that risk, not to eliminate it. One rule is absolute: a legitimate seller delivers by in-game trade and never needs your login. Never share your account password with anyone.

Nothing here is financial, legal, tax, or other professional advice, and nothing on this site should be relied upon as a recommendation to make any particular purchase. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for complying with the laws and agreements that apply to you. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PixelRates and its operator, Magcore Technologies Inc., accept no liability for any loss, damage, ban, or dispute arising from your use of this site or from any transaction you enter into with a seller. Your use of PixelRates is also governed by our terms of service and privacy policy; if you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
